At entry to Vas Lane from Mangalore Nursing home there is no road at all. Thanks to our great corporator Naveen Dsouza. He has managed to acquire upto 2.5 m land from private buildings for road widening except in this patch or road. The height of incapability is, from Unity Hospital only 1 meter land is acquired and of course provision is made for parking of 2 wheelers on both sides of such narrow stretch. He had no guts to get more land form Unity Hospital. Earlier there were 2 wheelers parked parallel to road, and now they are parked at perpendicular . No-parking board is for names sake.

There are several mistakes in our Mangalore traffic department. if any officer read this , they may understand. 1. many traffic signals are sick and operates only once in while, may be one or two days in a month and then sleeps. How can a regular driver habituate to follow the signals and the traffic police carefully watching one the day when the signals are miraculously operating, and charging the drivers. 2. See the traffic signal at heart of the city. Road is CLOSED TO GO TO CITY CENTRE and signal is ON. this signal is diverted to clock tower. why?????? from milagres church towards clock tower is the GIVE WAY ROAD and signal is not required at all. drivers must watch and go . instead of AMBER light flashing, they provided signal lamps. nowhere in the world the signal has provided for the GIVE WAY roads except in our GREAT MANAGLAORE CITY. 3. SOME SMART CITY DRIVERs are giving right signal when they turn their vehicles to the left. one day i asked one moodabidri express driver, " Neevu yaake right signal kottiddiri? Naanu neevu right ge hoguthiri antha nimma hinde, 10 nimshadindha drive maadthene" you know what the super driver told me?????? who gave you licence? i gave right signal you to go from right and i am going to left........OMG dear commissioner of Mangalore, sir, please teach good signal lessons prior to issuing dirving licence to the new drivers and give one class for old drivers especially express bus drivers and truck drivers. once people know the traffic rules, then all nonsense on the road will be eleminated.

Lane discipline is the utmost thing required in Mangalore. Until it becomes a way of life on roads, the lane markings should be replaced with traffic cones, gaps only at exits and entries to the roads. If you are not in the right lane, you can not take an exit. move to the next junction, take uturn and come back. Seems an impossible task, impossible steps need to be imposed to attain some impossible goals!

This movie is a better move in the smart City of Mangaluru, It is a good move in bringing these kinds of good rules to the city, by not honking on the school zones unnecessarily. But in the present Mangalore it is definitely not the case where we can follow the rule in that busy street. If there are no horns on the vehicle I guess the showroom companies would have great income through the accidental repairs by claiming the insurance on it. The Drivers/riders are not the same as how we had looked our old uncle's who used to have a responsible ride on the roads!! They just are cruels on the roads by blocking the traffic and having the Cuts on the road in a personal grudges on the road where in these cases, horns prohibition on some areas i feel is useless to make the driver or riders aware that they are on the road.... But the areas which it is unnecessary, this violation can be done !!!!!

I wanted to express my sincere appreciation for the proactive steps taken to establish no-horn areas. In light of this positive change, I would like to appeal for the extension of the no-horn zone to include mercara trunk road Given. The schools St.Agnea, St.Theresa and scs hospital implementing this measure on Bendore to Balmatta road would further enhance the well-being of the community.

Mangalore is not like Mumbai, Delhi ,Bangalore, is very small city since years. Our city is education hub, and hospitals are in the hearts of the city. So automatically bus drivers blow the horn unnecessary, now my point is WHY THE TRAFFIC POLICE AND RTO NOT BANING HORN SYSTEM IN THE CITY LIMIT..All problem will solve. No educated vehicles owners blow horn.

Sir, most of our roads should be declared no driving zone for the kind of state our roads are in. No matter whichever govts change, the state of our roads never change.

Few years back also same boards were put and nobody gave any response and the vehicles were freely putting the horns. According to me what is the necessity of horns in city areas, when our traffic Police were there to control. BAN HORNS IN ALL BUSES ( mostly they use horns) and all other vehicles traffic Police must put havey fine to them if they have have used the horn. But this hording will be tottaly failure.that what I believe.
