Jeddah-Mumbai Air India Flight Makes Emergency Landing

Mumbai, Aug 31 (IANS): An Air India Jeddah-Mumbai flight made an emergency landing here following suspected hydraulic failure, officials said. All 286 passengers on board are reported safe.

The incoming flight from Jeddah AI-930 was scheduled to arrive at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport here at 12.58 p.m., when it reported a suspected hydraulic failure. The airport authorities declared a full state of emergency.

The flight landed safely at 13.48 p.m. and there was no casualty of any kind, officials of the airline and the airport said.

The emergency was withdrawn at 14.13 p.m.

This is the second incident of its kind involving an AI aircraft in the past two days.

An Air India Chennai-Bangalore-Thiruvananthapuram flight with 123 passengers made an emergency landing at Thiruvananthapuram Tuesday following hydraulic failure.

The U.S. economy is not getting
any better due to the terribly deteriorated consumer confidence.
Last month, it was the worst in two
    years. The consumer confidence is
like the "herd instinct" of the animals.

Likewise, AI lost passenger satisfaction for a long time, and
now the passenger confidence of its
safety is an added issue so more
people are going to keep away from AI because other airlines are ready to welcome them with open arms, friendly smile and better
    service. MR. EDWARD has clearly
    explained the true nature of
AIR INDIA, and the rest of the
    comments have clearly warned
    about many other issues pertaining
    to AI's hopeless situation.

Nobody will buy AI which is in
deep financial trouble. It is over employed and the employees won't allow lay off. If dissolved
and try to sell the aircrafts and property, there will be a nasty strike with more property destruction. Also the old planes must be flown to some desert for parking because nobody wanted them. This is a very big question without any answer.

The weekly mishap news related to
Air India is echoing some serious
    setbacks in the proper maintenance
of the aircrafts. Due to the financial red ink problem of
Air India, they may be partially
    avoiding the routine maintenance.
    Now the passengers must watch
    this critical situation and avoid
    flying AI for their safety.

"Jeddah-Mumbai Air India Flight Makes Emergency Landing - This is the second incident of its kind involving an AI aircraft in the past two days." GUYS THIS IS RIGHT TIME TO PRIVATIZE AIR-INDIA COMPLETELY SO THAT FROM NOW LOTS OF LIFE CAN BE SAVED FIRSTLY. NO USE OF INFUSING MONEY TO THIS SICKEN AIRLINE. AIR-INDIA LOST ITS CREDIBILITY-HONOR-FAME EVERYTHING. TILL NOW LAST-YEAR MANGALORE AIR-CRASH VICITMS KINS ARE SUFFERING AS NO SETTLEMENT ARE DONE. SO WITH THIS TERRIBLE CONDITION, NOBODY TRAVEL THRU AIR-INDIA, AS THIS AIRLINE IS NO SAFE TO FLY INTERNATIONALLY. OUR CENTRAL GOVT. SHOULD THINK CAREFULLY & AS SOON AS POSSIBLE TO MAKE PRIVATIZE AND REVAMP THE GOVERNING-BODY AS WELL AS RECRUIT NEW QUALIFIED PILOTS, AIR HOSTESS, WELL TRAINED TECHNICAL STAFF AND ALSO OPERATING STAFF. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH, WE AS GENERAL PUBLIC DON'T WANT TO LOSE OUR TAX MONEY TO THIS USELESS-CORRUPT AIR-INDIA AT ALL.
