Houston, Nov 20: Houston Konkan Catholic Association (HKCA), in partnership with Mandd Sobhann, screened the hit Konkani movie ‘Osmitay’ on November 5 at Midtown Arts and Theater Center (MATCH) in Houston. This was also the premiere show of the movie in the USA. Over 120 patrons attended the movie event and there was great excitement to watch this movie, which had received fabulous reviews and appreciation from the world over.

As the show time commenced, patrons were let into Matchbox4 Theater, where the movie was screened. Each patron was given a food bag containing delicious samosas and mango juice. Melodious Konkani music was played as patrons entered the hall and settled down. Clarence D’Cruz welcomed the audience and thanked everyone who had worked hard to make this event possible. Special thanks were given to sponsors of the movie and donors who had supported this event. After that, sponsor videos were played, and the film's first half commenced. The audience were glued to their seats as the movie went about the story with great acting, humor, music, and cinematography while depicting Konkani culture and history.

At the end of the first half a break of 15 minutes was taken. The audience mingled with each other and exchanged pleasantries. Soon it was time for the second half to commence, which was preluded by sponsor videos. The audience were once again glued to their seats and were mesmerized with the depiction of Konkani community history intermingled with an entertaining love story. As the movie concluded patrons exited the hall and assembled outside the Theater for photographs. Group photographs were taken, and the event concluded. Roshan D’Souza photographed the event.

Everyone who watched the movie appreciated the depiction of the Konkani community's origin and culture and praised the acting, melodious music, and beautiful cinematography in the film. The audience also appreciated the efforts made by the core committee working with Mandd Sobhann to screen the movie. All the proceeds from the movie will be donated by HKCA to Mandd Sobhann to support their work promoting Konkani language, culture, and heritage.
