Class 9 boy ends life after parents scold him over phone addiction in Chikkaballapura

Chikkaballapura, Nov 7 (IANS): In a shocking case, a Class 9 student died by suicide after his parents scolded him over mobile phone addiction in a village in Karnataka's Chikkaballapura district, police said on Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as 15-year-old Lokesh and the incident took place in Chittavalahalli village.

Lokesh's father was worried about him spending most of his time on the mobile phone and wanted him to focus on studies.

When father objected to his mobile addiction on Monday, both got into an argument. The boy fought with his parents and left the house in anger.

Lokesh in a fit of rage and not able to take the constant criticism hanged himself from a tree in an isolated place in the village, said the police.

The police have taken up the investigation.

Very sad.It happens wen mutual understanding both sides.Children first of all are very eager to possess and work on it in the beginning.Parents dont understand or sometimes too much adhere on studying .Of course parents should make it a point to give the phone only after studies or home work.Let them have it for certain time and they take it when goes to sleep.Everyone must follow rules .Atleast child is till 18years .As a teenager its fun to have it like any other. Some are using too much .Are addict.Even going to school let them take and till come back.No perfect rules but one must follow and adjust accordingly.Heartfelt sympathy to family -May his soul.rest peace.Parents too sometimes show some understanding and shouldnt correct them continously.Aging children take sudden steps which can end fatal like this.

What can we call this from a little boy? Whether it is depression due to humiliation... Or arrogant revenge against parental suppression... We find such incidents on the rise these days... It was but a normal snubbing by parents... What the boy was doing with phone is anybody's guess... Nowadays there are betting apps, earning apps and all sorts of distractions that become dear to the young ones... Not to forget the infamous Pubgy games.. Sad thing to read... RIP to the young soul....
