Woman, live-in partner die by setting themselves ablaze in Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Nov 6 (IANS): A woman and her live-in partner allegedly committed suicide by torching themselves at their residence in Kothanur police station limits in Bengaluru, an official said on Monday.

The deceased have been identified as 20-year-old Soumini Das from West Bengal and 29-year-old Abhil Abraham from Kerala. They had poured petrol and set fire to themselves, according to police. The incident took place on Sunday.

Police explained that Soumini Das was married and pursuing her nursing studies in Bengaluru and got introduced to Abhil Abraham, who worked at a nursing home. They developed a relationship.

They moved together to a flat in Doddagubbi village on the outskirts of Bengaluru. Soumini Das had told her husband that she can’t live any more with him and wants to spend life with her new partner.

She had got a call from her husband on Sunday noon and later it is not known what had conspired between the couple. The neighbours had heard noises and screams of the couple. By the time, they rushed to rescue them, Soumini Das was charred to death.

Her partner, Abhil Abraham was shifted to the Victoria Hospital but he succumbed to the burn injuries on Sunday night. Kothanuru police has taken up investigation.

Rudy sir, for your information, she is married and virgin no more. Again, for your information, she informed her husband that, she will be continuing to live with her new partner. She didnt cheat her husband behind his back and she clarified her stand !! Perhaps, this her husband did some kithapathi after he heard her decision Again for your wonderful imagination and knowledge, why her partner who is much more older than her, kept away from her on the ground that she is married lady and belonging to another MAN and his family ???!!! Please dont change the track and comment on the views which i expressed here.... Gender biased comments naka. I believe in rational, logical, and current affairs based 🤔 thinking! My views are gender neutral always and the other day the topic of age and virginity applied to both genders! I REITERATE AGAIN THAT TODAY SCHOOL STUDENTS OF 8-9-10th class start their amorous exercises; and remaining a virgin is an exception rather than a rule!! Here, I was commenting on the consciousness and morality of the concerned girl who just vanished with her new found love without even divorcing; what nonsensical act is this? If it was the other way round the girls family would have filed dowry harrasment cases against the husband! My comments are news specific and based on the reality of the times we are living in and not based on what was going on in the earlier generation; I hope this goes to your white matter!🤔🙏
