Udupi, Nov 4: In a peculiar incident in Malpe, a young man resorted to stealing a parked bike's helmet as a means to evade fines imposed by the police on two-wheeler riders not wearing helmets.

The victim of this helmet theft is Ramesh Thingalaya from Malpe, who had left his bike parked in front of Eluru Mogaveera Bhavan. During this time, unidentified individuals on another bike swiped his helmet.

This incident was captured on a CCTV camera. Reportedly, on the same day, the police were actively enforcing traffic regulations, imposing fines on riders without helmets. Recognizing this, some individuals opted for theft to avoid the penalties.
