Mangalurean Zeke Izyk Coelho, aged 8, wins 2nd runner-up in Dubai's Rising Stars - Season 4 contest

Dubai, Oct 24: Mangalurean Zeke Izyk Coelho who is all of just 8 years, residing in Dubai, won the second runner-up in ‘Burjuman Mall’s Rising Stars 2023 - Season 4’ hosted by Burjuman Mall, Dubai, UAE, on October 15.
 
After earlier successful events, discovering and nurturing talents from across the United Arab Emirates, Burjuman Mall’s Rising Stars was back this year from September 22 to October 15 for children aged in the 4 to 16 years category open for people of over 200 nationalities, who live in United Arab Emirates.
 
There was no language barrier. As many as 80 contestants from around 750 could make it for the semi-finals and 30 qualified for the finals in three categories of ‘singing’, ‘dancing’ and ‘others’.
 












































Zeke’s performances received a standing ovation from all the judges and an overwhelming response from the audiences, who could not stop themselves from grooving to Zeke’s passionate singing and were in awe of his showmanship, a complete presenter and entertainer, a born rockstar, who connected with the audiences in every performance.

Baba Sehgal, India’s renowned singer and performer, was the chief guest of the event, who could not stop himself from going up on stage and taking Zeke’s autograph, after being mesmerised by his rockstar performance.

Zeke performed ‘Don’t Cry’ by Guns N’ Roses in the finale, ‘Sweet Child O’ Mine’ by Guns N’ Roses in the semi-finals and ‘Crazy Little Thing Called Love’ by Queen in the auditions. All his three performances can be viewed on his YouTube channel ‘Zeke Izyk’, links below:

The judges for this event were Nidhi Kumar, a Dubai-based professional dancer/choreographer, Fahmil Khan, a musician and CL frostyle, professional Bboy/choreographer. master of ceremonies was done by the multi-talented Joe Mohan, who was the official host of the event.

Zeke has been performing at various events and shows in Dubai and in India on various occasions and has emerged as a winner in several competitions. Zeke has won the first place consecutively for two years at the St Mary’s Church Konkani Hymn singing competition in Dubai in 2021 and 2022 consecutively, where he sang in his mother tongue ‘Konkani’.
