Mangaluru: Police arrest Ravi Poojary, Kali Yogi's aide Mohammed Hanif

Mangaluru, Oct 23: A police team led by Mangaluru south division ACP Dhanya Nayak have arrested notorious sharpshooter Manjeshwar Paivalike, Kerala resident, Mohammed Hanif alias Ali Munna, said to be an accomplice of  underworld don Ravi Poojary and Kali Yogesh who are facing arrest warrants in several police stations of the district.

Hanif alias Ali Munna represents crimes perpetrated by underworld don Ravi Poojary in the coastal region. He is facing arrest warrants for several shootouts, thefts, robberies and making threats from several police stations in the state.
 
Cases against him have been registered at Konaje, Mangaluru north, Puttur, Barke, Vitla, Ullal and Bengaluru airport police stations. These cases against him were registered in 2010 and 2013 including for shoot-out of Bevinja, a PWD contractor, thefts in Manjeshwar, Kumble and Vidyanagar police station limits.
 
 
His shoot-out at Sanjiva Silks, Mangaluru north police station limits and at Puttur Rajdhani Jewellers had attracted the attention of many in the district.

Ali Munna and Manish were reportedly controlling Ravi Poojary's underworld activities in Karnataka while Ali Munna was controlling Poojary's underworld business on the coastline.
 
Munna was devastated and went into hiding in Bengaluru after the murder of his close accomplice Manish by the Kodikere Manoj gang in Bengaluru to avenge the murder of Kishan Hegde of Karkala.
 
He was arrested in a joint operation by the police team led by Dhanya Nayak and Konaje police in Kerala while he had indulged in Hafta vasooli (extortion).
