Abu Dhabi, Aug 22 (IANS/WAM) Abu Dhabi is one of the world's top tourism destinations due to its huge tourism infrastructure and services, said an expert Monday.
Elias Sarkis, general manager of Abu Dhabi Sands Hotel, said the emirate of Abu Dhabi is witnessing a boom in the tourism sector, indicating that efforts were underway to make Abu Dhabi the top tourism destination in the region, particularly in the areas of international conferences, entertainment and shopping.
Sarkis noted that Abu Dhabi hosts sports and arts events that have been a huge success at the regional and international levels.
He expected that the hotel occupancy would increase in the coming months due to the forthcoming expos, sports, cultural and arts events.
