Dubai, Aug 20: ‘Blood Donation’ Campaign’ which was organized by UAE Bunts as a part of their special programme concluded at Al Wasl Hospital here on Wednesday August 17.

During the auspicious month of Ramadan, donors poured in great numbers from 6.30 pm into Al Wasl Hospital enthusiastically for the great cause.

Organizers including Ganesh Rai, former president of Karnataka Sangha Sharjah welcomed the community members who voluntarily came in large number. The prominent members of other associations too volunteered to donate blood.

With this blood donation camp, UAE Bunts proved itself to be one among those few volunteer associations who conduct regular blood donation campaigns every year.  The members along with hospital authorities were busy welcoming donors and filling up the required forms, examining blood samples and getting ready for the extraction of blood all with smiles on their face. They were issued a ‘Donor Card’ exclusively as a proof of their support.

Some of the other patriotic associations who have been willingly doing these types of blood donation campaigns are Karnataka Sangha Sharjah, Mogaveers UAE, Amchigele Samaj UAE, Ramarajya Khsatriya Sangha UAE, Padmashali UAE & Kodagu and Dakshina Kannada Gowda Samaja Dubai who have already recorded their names in the list of blood donors of India in UAE. Today UAE Bunts has also enrolled in this list and has made India proud with its successful programme.

UAE Bunts blood donation campaign was given a boost with the support and participation of some of the prominent leaders like Raju Bhandary of Karnataka Sangha Sharjah, Bala Salian, Vice-president of Mogaveers UAE, Satish Poojary & Anand Bailoor of Billawas Dubai & Northern Emirates, Sudhakar Thumbe of Billawa Balaga Dubai, Ganesh Prasad, Harish Kodi & Sunil M of Kodagu & Dakshina Kannada Gowda Samaja Dubai, Ravi B. Shettigar, President of Padmashali UAE and Vishwas Sherigar of Devadiga Sangha Dubai.

Some of the prominent UAE Bunts like Kushal Shetty, Pravin Shetty, Premnath Shetty, Shekar Shetty, Dinesh Alva including many women and children took part in this campaign which saw many Keralites and Muslim community also taking part in this great cause.  Sarvotham Shetty, Chief Convener of UAE Bunts also was present and donated blood which strengthens this campaign.

The campaign was well organized by Sudhakar Alva, Ganesh Rai, Prasad Shetty, Shobha Shetty, Mahesh Shetty, Hema Shetty, Rashmikant Shetty, Meghana Shetty and many other enthusiastic members of UAE Bunts.  As always, Ashok Belman of Gulf Kannadiga.com was also one of the donor present during the campaign who donated blood and also captured pictures of the event.

Donation of blood is a gesture of goodwill and care for the fellow human beings. There is no gift more valuable than a Gift of Blood, as it is actually a Gift of Life for the person who receives it.
Congratulations to all UAE Bunts community members for participating and being blood donors, you've joined other donor group by taking some of your precious time to donate blood during this campaign. Through the 1 or 2 hour you gave, you have quietly helped the children suffering from Thalesmia.

Regardless of the circumstances, blood is the life-giving force. Many thanks and congratulations to Mr Sudhakar Alva, Mr Sarvotham Shetty, Mr Ganesh Rai and Mr Balu Salian who actively encourage and promote the fellow community members to take part in such social actiivties for a noble cause.

We hope your experience this time will encourage you to return to next blood donation camps (Normally 3 months gap before the person can donate again) to donate again.

Again, thanks to the organizers of UAE Bunts community blood donation camp of and the donors for volunteering and helping so many.

Mr Ashok Belman, thanks for your nice photos, in fact you have captured the hidden happiness behind the smiling faces of blood donors and to Mr Shodhan Prasad for publishing this article in a nice way
