PM Modi arrives at BJP HQ to attend meeting to discuss candidates for Raj, C'garh polls


New Delhi, Oct 1 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday arrived at BJP headquarters here for the party's Central Election Committee (CEC) to discuss the names of candidates for the upcoming assembly elections in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh.

The Prime Minister, who earlier in the day addressed a public meeting in Telangana's Mehbubnagar, arrived at the party headquarters in the national capital on Sunday evening.

He was received by party chief JP Nadda.

In the meeting, senior leaders like Union Ministers Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh and many others would be present.

Rajasthan Election in-Charge Prahlad Joshi, Rajasthan in-charge Arun Singh, Rajasthan BJP President CP Joshi, former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, among other leaders of the Rajasthan BJP core group were also present at the party headquarters.

Chhattisgarh election in-charge Om Prakash Mathur, co-election in-charge Mansukh Mandaviya, former chief minister Raman Singh and Chhattisgarh state president Arun Saw, along with other leaders were also present.

Sources said that the second list of candidates for Chhattisgarh and first list for Rajasthan will be finalised during the CEC meeting.
