I was Initially Nervous: Rudra Pratap

London, Aug 19 (IANS) India's medium pacer Rudra Pratap Singh, who made a comeback to Test cricket after three years, has said he was nervous bowling on the first day of the fourth and final cricket Test against England at The Oval here Thursday.

"I was initially nervous, that's why the first over I bowled here and there but gradually I got my line and length," said Rudra Pratap.

The left-arm pacer said he was informed about his selection at the last minute after Praveen Kumar was dropped due to an ankle injury.

"I was told this morning after warm-up when PK (Praveen) reported he wasn't fully fit. The coach and captain then informed me that I was playing," he said. "I played some matches in IPL (Indian Premier League) and a few club matches. Our domestic season lasts from September to March, so yes there weren't many four-day games but I am quite fit for the matches," he said.

Rudra Pratap, who picked up 12 wickets from three Tests in the 2007 series, was confident of getting back his form.

"The year 2007 is a long time back. But I've learnt a few more things like how to bring an in-swing to a left-hand batsman. I just need a good click. I wasn't surprised at my inclusion. I have been working on my fitness at home. I came here to play and was waiting for my turn," said the pacer.

"We will aim for a win and go all-out. We want to leave a good impact," he said.
