Thiya Samaj Leader Praveen Shanker Meets Watery Grave in Thailand

Mumbai, Aug 15: Praveen Shanker (59), the honorary secretary of Thiya Samaj breathed his last, following a severe attack while he was swimming in the Phuket Island in Thailand on Saturday August 14.

On August 7, Praveen had been on a vacation to Thailand along with his wife Rekha and two sons but unfortunately he passed away, leaving behind his wife and children.

Basically hailing from Mangalore Praveen had established himself as an businessman in Mumbai. He was one of the very active members of Thiya Samaj for over two decades. He was a generous donor to the temple, institutions and had initiated in providing scholarships to able students.

He was actively involved in charity works. The members of Thiya Samaj expressed shock at the incidence and have deeply mourned the sudden death of Praveen Shanker. The body would be brought to Mumbai and funeral would be held in a couple of days, informed the sources.
