Mangaluru, Sep 16: The plot hatched by Arafat Ali, a native of Shivamogga, who was apprehended by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday, has come to light.

The NIA confirmed that the accused targeted to conduct attack on Kadri temple in the city. In a press statement released on Thursday, the NIA said that Arafat used to control the activities by residing overseas. He was brainchild behind Shivamogga trial blast, Mangaluru cooker bomb blast and wall graffiti.

Shariq got inspired by Arafat Ali and prepared himself to carry out cooker bomb blast. The earlier reported case of wall graffiti was registered in the town. Maaz Munir and Yasin were involved in the act. Arafat was the instigator in that case too. Later, trial blasts were held in Shivamogga.

Finally, Shariq, along with Arafat Ali, hatched plot to carry out cooker bomb blast. However, the cooker bomb exploded as it was being carried by Shariq in an auto-rickshaw. However, the target of Shariq was not clear during that time. After Shariq recovered in the hospital, the NIA officials took him to Bengaluru.
