UAE Greets India, Pakistan on Independence Day


Abu Dhabi, Aug 14 (IANS/WAM) The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has greeted both India and Pakistan on the occasion of their respective Independence Day celebrations.

UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan sent a congratulatory cable to Indian President Pratibha Patil on the occasion of India's Independence Day Aug 15.

UAE Vice President and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who is the deputy supreme commander of the UAE Armed Forces, also sent similar cables to the Indian president.

The UAE leaders also sent cables greeting Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari on the occasion of his country's Independence Day Sunday.
