Woman cricketer Snehal suspended for illegal bowling action

New Delhi, Aug 10 (IANS) Indian women's cricket team seamer Snehal Pradhan has been suspended from bowling in international cricket for illegal action.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) Wednesday said an independent test found the bowling action of Snehal illegal and the player has been suspended from bowling in international cricket.

"She must undergo remedial work and further testing in order to continue bowling at international level," ICC said in a statement.

A comprehensive analysis revealed that her action exceeded the 15-degree level of tolerance permitted under the relevant regulations.

She was reported by umpires following the ODI between England and India June 30 at the Country Ground in Derby.

"She can apply for re-assessment of her bowling action after she has modified it in accordance with clause 2.4 of the regulations for the review of bowlers reported with suspected illegal bowling actions," ICC said.

"If she choose to appeal, she must lodge written notification with the ICC within 14 days of receiving the report."
