Mumbai: Billavar Association Convenes 79th Annual General Body Meeting

Mumbai, Aug 6: The 79th annual general body meeting of metro-based Billavar Association was held at Narayan Guru Auditorium, Santa Cruz (East), recently.

Association president Jaya C Suvarna presided over the programme.



Speaking on the occasion, Suvarna said that the Association has been empowering the community by supporting the studies of economically-weaker students and other welfare activities since its inception 79 years ago.

Dr U Dhananjay Kumar, the Association joint secretary and senior manager in legal department of Bharat Co-operative Bank (Mumbai) Limited, was felicitated for bagging the doctorate from Bharatiya Vidhya Peeta, Pune, on the same occasion.

Honorary presidents Y Nagesh, vice-president L V Amin, Nityanand D Kotian and C T Salian, Association monthly bulletin ‘Akshaya’, honorary editor M B Kukyan, joint secretary Dr U Dhananjay Kumar, Dhananjay S Kotian, Shankar D Poojary, honorary treasurer Uday S Salian, joint treasurer Ganesh M Billav, Mahesh C Poojary, Dharmapal G Anchan, Rajesh J Bangera, Seva Dal Commandant Ganesh K Poojary, women’s wing president Jayanti V Ullal, school committee president Bannanje Ravindra Amin, education Committee president Bhaskar M Salian, religious committee president Mohan G Poojary, youth welfare committee Premanat P Kotian, executive committee president Gagadhar J Poojary, Baby S Kotian, Ravindra A Amin, Anantaram S Sanil, Srimati S Poojary, Umesh D Kotian, N Nityanand, and Sadashiv Karkera were present on the occasion. 

The programme began with a prayer song by Vidita Anand Poojary.  The Association’s honorary chief secretary Jyoti K Suvarna welcomed the gathering.  Honorary joint secretary Dharmesh S Salian presented the annual report.
