Doha: Konkan Toastmasters Club Elects New Committee

Doha, Jul 30: After an eventful year (2010 – 2011) for Konkan Toastmasters led by the dynamic young president TM Christopher Almeida, it was time for a newly-elected executive committee to have the club sailing forward with great zest.

TM Mantha Srinivas, a seasoned Toastmaster, conducted the installation ceremony for the new executive committee. President, MTM Jovita Pereira D'Souza, will head the newly elected committee.

 

The other members of the committee are: MTM Mai Shareef (vice-president, education), TM Muthurangan (vice-president, membership), TM Sanjeev Nair (vice-president, public relations), TM Jonathan Sequeira (secretary), TM Ankur Vora (treasurer) and MTM Jesintha Fernandes (sergeant-at-arms).

Konkan Toastmasters club has seen tremendous success and has reached great heights under the leadership of TM Christopher Almeida and his team. Before handing over the mantle, TM Christopher Almeida thanked all the members for their support during the past year and conducted a grand award ceremony to thank and appreciate every member.

The Outstanding Toastmaster Award that was determined by a point system based on attendance, participation, contribution and presentation done within and outside the club was presented to MTM Joyce Alvares (first place). The second place was bagged by MTM Jovita Pereira D'Souza, third place by TM Jonathan Sequeira, fourth by TM Sheldon Mendonsa and the fifth by TM Filomeno Alves.

The efforts that the mentors put in were recognized and they were presented with certificates. The tremendous support from Wilfred Fernandes, manager, Ghanem Gardens was wholeheartedly appreciated by presenting a bouquet which was accepted on his behalf by his wife MTM Mable Fernandes.
 
Konkan Toastmasters is a six-year-old club. The meetings are held on the second and fourth Monday of every month at 7.15 pm at the Ghanem Gardens.
