India Lose the Lord's Test by 196 Runs


London, Jul 25 (IANS): India lost the first cricket Test to England by 196 runs at Lord's here Monday.

England now lead the four-Test series 1-0.

Chasing a victory target of 458 runs, India folded in for 261 in the last session on the fifth day.

Suresh Raina was the top scorer for the visitors in the second innings with 78 runs.

James Anderson was the pick of English bowlers with the figures of 5-65.

Put in first, England scored 474/8 declared in the first innings and bowled out India for 286.
