Shock for consumers after free 200-unit guarantee - Power tariff to rise from July 1

Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru (MS)

Bengaluru, Jun 5: State government announced free 200 units of electricity for people of Karnataka. However, now it has increased the tariff of electricity in order to balance the loss incurred due the freebies.

Energy department took out an order to this effect. Accordingly, Bescom consumers have to pay 51 paisa extra per unit from July 1 to September 30. From October 1 to December 31, 50 paise extra needs to be paid for every unit of electricity. The department said that this price revision is done to get back the energy adjustment fee.

Mescom consumers have to pay 47 paise per unit from July 1 to September 30 and 46 paise from October 1 to December 31.

Cescom (Mysuru) consumers have to pay 41 paise more for every unit from July 1 to December 31 while Hescom (Hubballi-Dharwad) consumers have to shell out 50 paise more for every unit from July 1 to December 31.

Gescom (Kalaburagi) consumers have to pay 34 paise per every unit extra from July 1 to September 30 and 33 paise for every unit from October 1 to December 31. Bescom has also applied for electricity tariff revision with KERC.

The person who commenting on free to mass people does not know that more then 100 times entrepreneurs loan waive by central and each state.lLoan waiver beneficiaries are less than 100 . Better understand economics and their steps to achieve devlopment. Industrialists run away and enjoying their life in mahal. More social benefit will force to mass spend more and economy develop.

All congress supporters , I am also one of you. We all will understand real burn what we suffer late only. Now onwards you see , in order to balance the budget due to deficit of freebies we all will be paying state cess in each and every item what we buy. All rentals for the business establishments will be more due to high state tax and the same will be recovered from us by the business people. I have now decided not to blindly support any political party just because I hate saffron brigade.

Forget freebies, its just given in one pocket and taking it from another!!!. Only Kejriwal can do it. Not others. It was expected that if people were mouth fed, they would be equally taken from the rear. The biggest of all the promise in the manifesto . The Ban of Bajrang Dal and RSS in Karnataka is something we are looking for. I am very curious now, on how they will do it or find a reason to wriggle out .

For all those who are expecting the likes of Siddu or DKS to ban organisations in Karnataka , sorry to say you are living in a fools paradise . These are just 'safe constituency and freebie promise' winners. Max they can do is appeal to the High court and then perhaps the Supreme Court. The SC will ask for the rationale and evidence for the purpose of banning. What will these leaders show???. The case will be squashed and then the State leadership will say 'we did out best, SC is not permitting'. It will go the freebie way.

What is 200 units of electricity? Good for 2 lights and 1 fan ? If after 75 years, India claims to have many poor people, it's really a shame. If you can't afford to pay for 200 units of electricity, then you're negligent or plain lazy. What are you doing with all the free schemes from the government ? There are many people who hold the BPL card even though they're not poor. Instead of just giving freebies, the government should survey and investigate thoroughly all the BPL card holders and find out why they have not been able to overcome their poverty and the government must seriously help those who have the real problems. I know, poverty is not a joke or something in the mind but people too need to struggle hard to overcome their situation.

If government gives 200 units of free electricity without conditions then there is very high possibility of misuse the scheme by a part of individuals for some obvious reasons. To stop this government has to put some conditions to control the misuse.

Check mate! This move was pre planned and agreed with the Mescom or KEB before drafting the manifesto. If not they would not have agreed to this move. The hike was to be announced only after victory . This freebie will only benefit rural areas, where there are one or 2 tubelights , one fan and other basic electrical items in small homes . Not in towns . So the salaried middle class and lower middle class are severely hit. Now wait for the announcement as the KSRTC bus fare is increased to even out the exempted fare for ladies. Its just simple cost accounting.

Makes sense. There was always a question on 'where will the funding for the 62000 crores worth of freebies would come from?''. Rural and backward areas will only benefit from this scheme. On the bus fare ,they were silent on the conditions. It was told 'anywhere in the State women can travel free in KSRTC'. We all assumed even travel to Mysore, Bangalore would be free. Its only certain selected busses. Now if they hike the bus fare we all are doomed!!!!

Today even honeybees are not free. I had mentioned in my previous comment that such freebees will not workout so easily. Instead of all frees, they should have lowered the tariffs for electricity up to 200 or 300 units. Bus fares and monthly passes for women and students at concessional rates, monthly stipends for graduates and non-graduates for a limited period or until they get employment.

DKS is someone who has got many cases against him , proved, jailed and currently on bail , Its just a matter of time that law catches up with him, DKs has been requesting postponement due to elections. So the high command decided to DKS him aside. Just imagine a CM being summoned and then proved guilty and goes to jail?? Till such time DKS is fully acquitted (which is a big doubt) he will not become the CM. Meanwhile, Lets say in 2028 if cases are still going on , he wont be the CM , if Congress wins.

Tax free for IPL was the favour done by UPA when it started in 2006. IPL was given the status of charitable trust meant for promoting sports which is exempted from tax in India. They should have made it a commercial entity.
