Mangaluru: Unloaded goods train belonging to Adani Group derails near Thokur station

Mangaluru, May 23: A goods train, which was Bareli bound from Chennai via Kerala and Mangaluru, derailed on Monday, May 22, in the evening near the Thokur railway station.

The goods train belongs to the Adani Group and was not loaded, railway sources say. The reason for the derailment is not known. Rail traffic was not affected following the derailment of the goods train as it was near the Thokur station. The Yeshwantpur-Karwar day train moved on another track without any hassles.

A technical team from Goa will be reaching Thokur station in another train to restore the derailed goods train on to the rail track and to undertake repairs, it is learnt.
