Mumbai, Jul 12: A 33-year-old man named Hemant Sanghoi who recently got married kidnapped his neighbour's son and demanded Rs 35 lac as ransom, allegedly to gift his bride a house and jewellery.

According to the police Sanghoi asked his neighbour  Sajjan Bind‘s son Arun to accompany him for an outing. Arun readily agreed as he knew Sanghoi since childhood. Hemant took the boy to Sangli where he stays with his wife.

When Arun’s parents did not get recieve news from him, they lodged a missing complaint at the Kasturba Marg police station.

A police official said that Arun’s parents did not know that he was with their neighbour, and therefore they searched for him everywhere.  When they realised that Hemant too was missing, they complained to the police.

On Monday July 11, Hemant called up Sajjan Bind demanding Rs 35 lac as ransom at the earliest.

The police traced Hemant and the boy using the number from which Hemant made the call within three hours.

Hemant then confessed that he had wanted money to gift his wife. Knowing that Arun’s dad, a plumbing contractor, would pay any amount to save his son, he kidnapped Arun to make easy money.

What a nonsense act is this ?? Knowing the neighbour from childhood and carrying out the crime just to gift a house and jewellery to his wife is nothing but foolishness. Why is that in todays conditions, people do not want to have hardships and just want to get along with easy money.
