Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (MS)

Udupi, Apr 2: DC Koorma Rao has announced that prior permission is now mandatory for any political campaigning on electronic and social media platforms. The election code of conduct is being implemented in the district and all political parties must seek approval from the district MCAC committee before advertising in newspapers, visual media, cable TV, Facebook, or WhatsApp. Anyone who violates this rule will be booked under the people's representative act.

DC Rao visited the MCAC office located at the DC office complex on Sunday and stated that only after submitting a written application for permission to advertise with MCAC and obtaining approval, such advertisements should be published.

The DC also emphasized that any handouts printed for election campaigning must carry the name and address of the printer, the number of copies, and other relevant details. Information regarding the print should be given in a prescribed form within three days and a sample copy should be provided to the DC office. Any violation of these rules will be dealt with under the people's representative act.

The District MCAC office, located on the first floor of the Rajatadri DC office complex in Manipal, should be contacted regarding any advertisement publication.

Additional DC Veena B N, nodal officer of the district MCAC committee Manjunath B, and supervisor and deputy director of Kannada and culture department Poornima were present during the announcement.
