Bantwal, Mar 28: Political parties are becoming increasingly apprehensive about the election code of conduct as the poll date draws near.

Although the election commission has not yet announced the date, the district administration, taluk administration, and police department have been instructed to prepare for the elections. As a result, the model election code of conduct appears to be in effect.

The district administration is removing all boards, banners, and cut-outs featuring pictures of political leaders. The faces of elected representatives on large government advertisements are being covered. The display of political party symbols and pictures of political leaders is prohibited, and such images are being covered.

Notably, papers have been pasted over the pictures of chief minister Basavaraj Bommai on the cut-out at Brahmashree Circle, and those of Prime Minister Modi on the nearby railway bridge. The police department is inspecting vehicles and keeping a close watch on cash transactions lacking proper documentation. The election commission is taking measures to control any violations and curb the temptation of political parties.
