Udupi: Rs five lac cash without relevant documents seized

Udupi, Mar 27: Padubidri police station personnel seized a car and Rs five lac cash that was being transported illegally in the vehicle on Sunday, March 26 at around 4.30 pm at Hejmady check post.

SI Purushottam stopped a car that was moving from Mangaluru to Udupi for checking. He found a blue bag having embossment of Sri Rajarajeshwari temple Polali inside the tool box of the car. On opening the bag a bundle of Rs 500 currency notes was found inside it. When the SI inquired about the source of the money with driver Ahmed Kabeer and passenger Abdul Khader Jailani they did not produce any relevant documents.

Police seized cash and car and a case is registered at Padubidri police station.
