Bengaluru: Congress releases first list; U T Khader, Mithun Rai, Vinay Kumar Sorake make the cut

Bengaluru, Mar 25: The Congress party released its first list of 124 candidates for the upcoming legislative assembly elections.

It is confirmed that former chief minister and leader of opposition Siddaramaiah will be contesting from Varuna constituency. D K Shivakumar will be contesting from Kanakapura. H C Mahadevappa from T Narasipur, Darshan, son of late Dhruva Narayan from Nanjanagud, Chaluvanarayanaswamy from Nagamangala, Muniyappa from Devanahalli and Ashok Keni from Bidar south are the other candidates announced by the party.

In coastal region, U T Khader is offered ticket from Mangaluru, Mithun Rai from Moodbidri, Rakshit Shivaram from Beltangady, Ramanath Rai from Bantwal, Krishnappa G from Sullia, Gopal Poojary from Byndoor, Vinay Kumar Sorake from Kaup and Dinesh Hegde Molahalli from Kundapur legislative constituency.

    In Coastal area, only Khader will win. No hopes for Ramanatha Rai, Mithun Rai and Sorake. Reason being people will look at only religion which BJP will gain and emergence of AAP will ruin Congress chances.

    Somebody predicted that this time out of 8 seats in south kanara 5 seats Congress will win. I think Out of 5 Khader and Mithun Rai are confirmed.

    I am very intrigued with the list .Ramantha Rai, Mithun Rai, Padmaraja etc. Especially against BJP and also when there are other options like AAP, SDPI, JDS very etc. More than the victory , apparently Congress was trying to appease its own candidates , so they dont feel bad. Its going to be a very tough call.

    DK/UDUPI politicians are just waste..whatever Govt comes, our MLAs are just to fill the seat in Assembly.. whatever little development we saw was done decade earlier by old gen politicians..new politicians contribution is just zero, except releasing funds for religious places, community halls nothing else.. dont count on roads, NHAI flees us thru Toll gates in every corner of road..

    Congress should not give tickets to persons if the father or mother is in Congress party and the son or daughter in another party. The parents will compromise their seats in favour of their son and ensure congress loses.

    In my view, Khader should have been pitted against Vedvyas Kamath and proven his real might. Any one in Congress can win Ullala so no big deal. Congress would have won an additional seat.

    With all due respect. Not an impressive list. Ramantha , Mithun, Seriously? Only safe constituencies are guaranteed of winning , Khader, Siddu are lucky. Rest not sure, will meet the same fate.
