All India Chess Tourney at Kozhikode from Jun 24

Kozhikode, June 22 (PTI) National 'A' level chess players will be in action at the five-day All India open Rating Chess Tournament, which will get underway here on Friday.

Speaking to mediapersons here today, P T Ummer Koya, former Vice-President of World Chess Federation, said prominent national players who would be participating include five time senior state chess champion N Majid and former youth champion N Santosh Kumar.

Former Kerala university champion Rahul R and National Sub-junior stars Arjun Adappa and rish Shenoy will also be vying for top honours, he said.

About 20 players will be selected from the championship for a long-term coaching camp, he added.

The tournament has been organised by Kerala Chess Association.
