Mangaluru: Communal Harmony - Hindus, Muslims to renovate 800-year-old mosque

Mangaluru, Mar 22: In a remarkable display of religious harmony, people of different faiths have come together to renovate the 800-year-old Moideen Juma Masjid in Mularapatna, Bantwal taluk.

As an old mosque, the community decided to renovate the mosque, and people from all religions, castes, and even living abroad have joined hands for the renovation work. The mosque has become a symbol of communal harmony, with people of all backgrounds coming together for a common cause.

The inauguration of the renovated mosque, organized by the Masjid's members, was called 'Noda Banni Namura Masidi'. Visitors from various faiths and castes came to witness the beauty of the mosque.

Ashraf M B, the president of the mosque, said, "Several people, including Hindus, have worked during the renovation of the mosque. People from abroad also joined hands for the work. This mosque is 800 years old, and Hindus provided wood for its construction. This place is a symbol of harmony."

Rathnakar, the carpenter who designed the woodwork of the mosque, said, "For the first time, I have done carving of wood for a mosque. People from different faiths came together for this cause. Visitors are praising our work."

Kusuma, who visited the mosque, said, "I visited this mosque out of curiosity, and I was impressed by the harmony among people of different faiths who were visiting it. People in Mularapatna are living happily without any discrimination."
