Dubai, Mar 16: SCENT (Sandhya Creations Event Network Team) and Ambalathere Vision have joined hands to present an unique programme titled ‘An Evening with Dr Vidyabhushana Live in Dubai’ with the event license of Maestro Events on April 23 at 5 pm in JSS Private School, Al Safa here.
Preparations are in full swing to make the event a memorable one and the followers of Dr Vidyabhushana are constantly in touch with the organizers awaiting the date of the programme to participate in the purely devotional programme.
SCENT has always presented quality entertainment and this time, Ambalathere Vision also have joined hands with them to make it more professional. A good number of audience is expected. An overwhelming support is being received on a daily basis enquiring the details of the programme.
The three-hour programme will include Dr Vidyabhushana’s live singing of Dasara Padagalu and in between the intervals there will be pure classical dance presentations by local talents which include disciples of Roopa Kiran who is well known in the UAE.
Dr Vidyabhushana of Karnataka is renowned for his mellifluous voice, rendering the krithis with rich bhava and rare literary enabling the audience to enjoy an aesthetically satisfactory concert. He sings devotional songs, mainly Haridasa compositions, and Carnatic classical music. He has many albums to his credit, mainly devotional songs in Kannada, Tulu and has given concerts all over the world. His first album was titled ‘Dasara Padagalu’ and the 100th titled ‘Tanu Ninnadu Jivana Ninnadu’. Performing for more than 40 years, he has traveled to many countries including a tour across the World. He had his initial training in music from his father the late Govindacharya and then from Narayana Aithal of Udupi. He had his advance training in music from the great T V Gopalakrishnan of Chennai. He has given numerous performances in India and abroad. He has been bestowed with many titles including ‘Sangeetha Vidyanidhi’ by the J S Sangeetha Sabha in Mysuru. He is also a ‘Karnataka Rajyothsava Awardee. He has been conferred with ‘Doctorate of Literature’ for his thesis on ‘Haridasa Sahithya & Music’ from Hampi University. There are hundreds of popular music albums in his credit and are famous worldwide. Dr Vidyabhushana's emotionally charged voice, cascading melody and majestic pace enables the keerthanas to reach the hearts of the rasikas straight with a soothing touch.
