Thane, Jun 20 (PTI): A man was found dead today in a compartment of an empty local train which moved into the railway station here from the car shed, the second such incident here in the last three days, police said.
The incident came to light when passengers noticed a body hanging from a rod in the compartment of the rake which moved into platform number 4 to proceed to CST, they said.
The police said it may be a case of suicide as the man was found hanging by a nylon rope tied to his neck.
An case of accidental death has been registered, they said, adding that the 45-year-old man is yet to be identified.
On Friday, a partly decomposed body of a woman with stab injuries was found in a second class compartment of an empty Kalyan-bound train at Kalwa railway car shed here.
