Mumbai: 50th Death Anniversary of Bhagwan Nityananda of Ganeshpuri Commemorated

Mumbai, Jun 20: The religious meet to commemorate the 50th death anniversary of Swami Nityananda was held on Saturday June 18.

"He lived a simple and deeply religious life which needs to be emulated by us," said Gopal C Shetty,MLA Borivali (West) .

He was speaking after inaugurating the religious meet held at Baidas auditorium, Mithibai College in  Vile Parle (East) held under the aegis of Sri Bhimeshwar Sadguru Nityananda Samstan, Ganeshpuri and Bhagwan Nityananda Fiftieth Death Anniversary Commemoration Committee. Shetty added that new generation contributes money for the progress of religion but they hardly devote their time in listening to religious preaching.

Lawyer and president of Nityananda Trust, Ganeshpuri V K Hingurani Sadguru presided.

Ghatkopar (West) MLA K Jagannat Shetty, Vile Parle (East) MLA Krishna S Hegde and Ganeshpuri Sarpanch Gurunat Kom among others were the chief guests.

Veteran hotelier Yermal Ratnakar R Shetty, Dadar presented a cheque of Rs 1 lac for the development at Ganeshpuri.

    A visionary saint who cared for all...who spoke Kannada.Malayalam..Konkani..Marathi..Hindi..who captured heart of devotees..who guided them towards lord..I don't know him..this is all what I heard about from people who revered this saint..used to feel nice by seeing his pictures in sherry restaurants in Bombay...a saint who binds us together..I once saw a old lady chanting the prayer..om namo Jagath guru nithyanthaya...she was full of grace and divinity as she chanted this words...
