Karkala, Mar 11: As two tickets are reportedly being given to Bunt candidates in Udupi, the Congress high command wants Bunts to obtain the ticket in Karkala. The high command has been thinking over the contribution of the Bunt community the party and if they are able to make the party win in the elections.

Muniyal Udaykumar Shetty is a strong leader not only in Karkala Congress but entire Karkala. He will not budge regardless of the efforts of the opposition party. Udaya Shetty who was the Congress vice president wished to contest from Congress last time. He visited houses, grassroot level activists and voters. The youngsters who depended on the BJP were seen with Udaya Kumar Shetty. He revived Congress which was later hit by BJP leader and now minister V Sunil Kumar.

But he was deprived of the ticket at the last minute. The supporters shouted slogans against Veerappa Moily who reportedly wanted to keep Karkala under his control, faced a setback. Udaya Kumar Shetty suffered for no fault of his.

Surendra Shetty is a successful businessman. He grows in the Bunts community as an able leader. He is the trustee of Umamaheshwara temple. He lost local elections and is running his business in Kundapur and decided not to be a part of Congress.

However, due to some pressure, he quickly became a KPCC member and a Congress ticket aspirant. He submitted the application paying Rs two lac. Congressmen are saying that Surendra Shetty is not a strong opponent to Sunil. Activists have said that Surendra Shetty should first work as an activist.

Supreet Shetty Kedinje was a foundation for the panchayat raj system. He became a gram panchayat member thrice and zilla panchayat member once and became popular among people. He is the hard core member of Congress. He silently worked for the unity of the party. A ticket to him is equivalent to respect to every party activist. It will not be surprising if he obtains the ticket in between the dispute between the other two.
