Puttur: 80-year-old goes missing into forest, stays for 3 days feeding on leaves; back home safely

Puttur, Mar 8: An 80-year-old woman went missing and was found in the forest area after three days.

Isamma, a resident of Dontila near Koukradi village of Hosamajalu left her home on February 28 in the evening saying that she would be back after paying a visit to the neighbourhood but while returning home she went missing into the forest area.

The woman was found in the forest area about 4 km away after three days. Isamma who spent two days and three nights in the forest lived on leaves and returned home safely much to the relief of her family members.

Isamma who is suffering from a mental disorder is said to converse less due to her age. But, she used to visit homes daily in her neighbourhood and spend time with them before returning home at night. On February 28, she was reported missing after leaving home. When she did not return home in the night her son Mohammed began making enquiries about her whereabouts but she was nowhere to be found.

On March 3 in the morning Shiju who was bringing home milk from the Hosamajalu Milk Society found Isamma roaming around in the Airthila reserve forest near Mannagundi. He sounded out to the people and found that she had indeed gone missing. Isamma was brought back home.

Isamma's son Mohammed had frantically searched for her till 2 am on the first day. A local youth team assisted Mohammed in finding his mother. According to Mohammed, he could not find any definite clues about his mother's whereabouts. He said he prayed to God and made some offering for her safe return. He said he was happy to see his mother return home safely.

    Really this son will get blessings from God and long life as promised by God. Sons should be like this. I remember about my mother. My brothers and sister in-laws and all children were not ready to take care her.Her last wish was to stay in her land atleast one day but her son and his wife didn't agree to take her even for one day. Shame on these children.and let god forgive them all
