Mangaluru: Youth gets killed in minor scuffle over washing of plate, accused held

Mangaluru, Mar 8: A murder took place at the coastal guard site in Maravoor village under Bajpe police limits involving the task of washing a plate after a meal.

The deceased is identified as Sanjay who hailed from north India. He got into a scuffle with Sohaan Yadav (19) another north Indian youth resulting in a fight between the two before the latter pushed the former to the ground. Sanjay suffered a grave head injury following the fall and was rushed to a hospital where he breathed his last.

After the incident, the accused Sohan who had escaped from the scene was taken into custody by the Bajpe police near the Mangaluru railway station.

The operation of nabbing Sohan was conducted under the guidance of police commissioner Kuldeep Kumar Jain, DCPs (Law & Order) Anshu Kumar and Dinesh Kumar by a team led by Mangaluru sub-division ACP Manoj Kumar Nayak that included police inspector Prakash, PSI Guru Kanthi, Poovappa, ASI Rama Poojary and head constables Purushottam, Santhosh D K, Mahesh, Sujan, Rajesh, Rasheed, Sanjeev Bhajantri and Prem Kumar.
