Mangaluru, Mar 4: A young man was stabbed in front of his home late on Friday night in Kotepura under the Ullal police station limits.
The victim, Sadakathullah (34), was immediately rushed to Indiana Hospital, where he remains in critical condition. The suspects, Chabbi alias Kabeer and Razik, are believed to be responsible for the attack and are currently being sought by police.
According to reports, the suspects lured Sadakathullah out of his house and stabbed him multiple times in the stomach. The attack is thought to have been motivated by animosity between the victim and the suspects over extortion money taken from a fish meal factory owner.
Several months ago, Sadakathullah's gang had attacked one of the suspects at Ullal over the same issue. The Ullal Police believe this latest attack was a revenge attack in response to that incident.
MLA U T Khader visited the hospital at around 1 am to inquire about the injured youth's well-being and urged the police to apprehend the culprits immediately.
