Dammam: Jam'iyyatul Falah’s Holds 23rd Annual General Body Meeting

Dammam, Jun 15: Jam’iyyatul Falah, winner of Karnataka State Award as the best NGO for its children welfare programmes and social service activities, held its 23rd annual general body meeting (AGBM) at Shamiana Restaurant in Dammam Corniche on Friday June 10.

The meeting commenced with the recitation of Holy Quran by Mohammad Mubeen. He enlightened the audience about the importance of charity in Islam and urged the audience to come forward and help the needy for the community’s betterment and gain rewards from Allah.

In his presidential speech, Munaf A U S thanked the committee for giving him the opportunity to lead JF Dammam unit for the year 2010-2011. He expressed his appreciation and also thanked the committee for their enormous support during the period which strengthened Dammam unit to progress in the direction of prosperity.

The annual report for the term 2010-2011 was presented by general secretary Mansour Ali Ahmed. He briefed about Jam’iyyatul Falah to the audience, an association meant for the welfare of less privileged brothers and sisters of the society, which came into existence in 1988.

While Jam’iyyatul Falah’s first priority is education and spreading literacy it also focuses on all round development of the less privileged families in the community. JF provides scholarships under different schemes to the needy students in Mangalore and Udupi. JF frequently organizes medical camps, awareness of health, and special medical check-up camps in both districts JF also provides dialysis for poor kidney patients.

The district and taluk unit of Jam’iyyatul Falah conduct programmes to distribute school books, uniforms, bags to needy and deserving poor students studying in high schools and colleges. JF provides support to dropouts by conducting dropout students training classes in every JF unit in the twin Districts. Many awareness programmes conducted were appreciated by the people benefited from it. Jam’iyyatul Falah in the District is distinguished as NGO by the Karnataka state government.
 
During the term 2010-2011, Dammam unit had conducted 10 monthly meetings to discuss various aspects for the betterment of the community and prepared the road-map for Cricket Tournament, Ramadan Kits and Family Get-Together.

Treasurer Imtiaz Ahmed presented the annual financial reports of Dammam unit for the Year 2010-2011. This mainly highlighted the financial support given to various programmes under the organisation.

The certificate of excellence was awarded to the members to appreciate their enormous support rendered to JF Dammam unit. The annual certificate was awarded to following members.

Outstanding attendance performance was awarded to 9 members for their regular attendance during the term 2010-2011 Mohammad Sharief Sultan, Shahul Hameed, Imtiaz Ahmed, Mahmood Saad, Rafiq Nariyar, Naushad Saad, Ibrahim Thumbe, Mohammad Araki and Mohammad Safawat.

Awards for the best event management and family get-together and for sports management in cricket was given to Sharief Karkala, and Mohammad Siraj respectively.

Best sports management for children’s game during family get-together event was awarded to Mohammad Wahid.

"Committee Member of the Year" was awarded to Shahul Hameed and Sharief Karkala for the third consecutive term for their consistent effort and support to Dammam unit. Outstanding performance as treasurer was awarded to Imtiaz Ahmed.

Outstanding endeavour to Dammam unit was awarded to Mohammad Imran Karkala.

General secretary dissolved the present committee and the Election Officers from JF Jubail unit M Shabbir Ahmed and Mohammad Altaf, Senior Executive Members of Dammam unit Mushtaq Ahmed and Hamza Mittur were at the dais to conduct the Election. The New Committee of 42 members was formed for the Term 2011-2012. The Office Bearers were unanimously elected by the managing committee.

The re-elected president, Munaf A U S had addressed the new committee and thanked all the members for showing confidence in him to continue for the second term. Taking into consideration the support from the new and the outgoing committee, he promised to exhibit his role as President with better productivity and ‘Vision of Success and Achievement’.

The senior-most member of Jam’iyyatul Falah Shahul Hameed encouraged the New Committee to work with commitment, devotion, hard-work and determination. Jam’iyyatul Falah is growing day by day and new members should join hands to build a better community back home, he said.
 
Naushad Saad delivered the welcome speech. Vote of thanks was proposed by Abdul Salam Hussain on behalf of JF Dammam unit and expressed his gratitude to all the members and guests for their kind presence and congratulated the new committee for their success in accomplishing all the future assignments of Jam’iyyatul Falah.
