Thane, Jun 12 (PTI) Bhayander police in Thane district today recovered four highly decomposed bodies of two adults and two children from a flat in Gaurav Garden Complex in the eastern part of the township.
Police suspect that the head of the family killed his wife and children, before committing suicide.
Police said that the bodies were decomposed beyond recognition.
According to them, the sole bread-winner of the family, D Agnihotri, who used to work in a bank, had lost his job and was depressed ever since.
Preliminary reports stated that Agnihotri killed his wife and two kids by slitting their veins and killing himself afterwards.
Senior police officers rushed to the spot, after Navghar police, in the eastern part of the town, received a call by one of the neighbours of the victims at about 7 pm, informing them about the suspected dead bodies in the residence.
