Kuwait: Mogaveer's Association holds seventh Annual General Body meeting

Kuwait City, Feb 13: The seventh annual general body meeting of Mogaveers Association Kuwait (MAK) was conducted on February 3 at Avanti Palace Salmiya. Ranjitha, an excellent host for the day welcomed all the MAK members to the event. As its customary and traditional, the proceedings of the MAK AGM commenced with Kuwait and Indian National Anthem followed by a prayer song sung by Ahana.

The lighting of the lamp was done by the president Jaya Kotian and convener Ramesh Kidiyoor. MAK ex-president Rajesh Mendon. And members Gopal Suarna, Dr Vikhyath Boloor.

The general secretary, Pundarika Kanchan read the Annual Report of the activities of the association for the year 2022. While the treasurer Lohith Karkera read out the financial report for the year, both of which were approved by the members. Welfare report was read by welfare officer Kiran Kumar.

Some of the major events of 2022 are as follows MAK organized its Sixth indoor, National level Volleyball and Throw Ball Tournament under the title of 'MAK Champion Trophy 2022' which was held on February 25 American International School, Maidan Hawally, Kuwait.

As part of the welfare project
1. Scholarship of Rs 15000 was given to First three Meritorious students of Mogaveera community of Mahalaksmi English Medium School, The names of the top 3 students as follows, Chethan Suresh Karkera, Nikshith M Karkera, Sinchana L Suvarna
2) Scholarship of Rs 150000 was given to first three meritorious students of Mogaveera community of Sagar Vidya Mandir, Beach Road, Padubidri. The names of students as follows Shrujana D Karkera,Thrusha, Rithu R Suvarna
3) Donated Rs 27, 055.76 to Kamala Mogaveer and Shantha Mogaveer.
4) Donated Rs 68,000 to Cancer patient Sujatha Kote, Katpady
5) Donated Rs 50000 to kidney patient Mohini Suresh, Kidiyoor
6) Financial help of 200KD to Vittal Shriyan
7) Donated Rs 25000 to heart patient Nagaraj Kunder, Kidiyoor
8) Scholarship of Rs 12,000 was given to Pranitha D Salian daughter of active member Dinakar C Salian who has scored 94.17 percent in PUC 2022.

MAK members gave their dance performance in Diwali Mela conducted by IIK and also performed Tiger dance in Carnival of Indian Community School, Salmiya, which was appreciated by the audience.

President Jaya Kotian welcomed all the members and thanked everyone for their continued support during his tenure. He also assured that he would also support and work towards the betterment of the committee and requested everyone to provide continuous support even for the upcoming year.

PRO and Welfare officer: Sudesh Puthran. Ullala Mangaluru.

The management committee members introduced themselves, thanked and assured all the members for rendering their best service during their tenure.
Newly Elected President, Mr. Kishore Kotian in his speech thanked all the members for electing him as president & giving this opportunity. He urged continuous support from all the members. And in his speech he told we have to work together for the betterment of association.

Executive committee of 20 members were announced By the president who are as follows Sachidanand Suvarna, Suresh Salian, Dr Vikyath Boloor, Dinesh Suvarna, Kusuma Girish, Kiran Kumar, Raksith Suvarna, Rajesh Salian, Prashanth Kunder, Nithesh Karkera, Santosh Kunder, Lakshmeesh Salian, Jeevan Amin, Ranjitha Pundarika, Amruth, Pooja Amruth, Nithin Suvarna, Sudhakar Puthran, Srinivas Puthran

Below Welfare Projects would continue as informed by the President -Death Grant of IRS 1,00,000/- in case of death of any active member, financial help will be provided to next of kin of the deceased.
Financial help (Health Grant) of IRS 25,000/- will be given to the members in case of serious health issues or permanent disability or severe injury due to accident.
Merit Cum Means Scholarship- Children of MAK members residing in Kuwait or India would be awarded Scholarship of IRS 10,000/- for 10th Standard Students and IRS 20,000 for 12th Standard Students.

President, Kishore Kotian also announced that scholarship of IRS 15,000 would be awarded to the first three meritorious students respectively for the year of 2022-2023, for the following schools of the Mogaveera Community
Mahalaksmi English Medium School, Uchila
Sagar Vidya Mandir,Beach Road, Padubidri

Convenor Ramesh Kidiyoor congratulated the new committee members and also urged everyone to get innovative and strengthen the members of the community in Kuwait and always be united. He also announced that a contribution of Rs 1,00,000 would be made towards the renovation of Sri Mahalaxmi Temple Uchila from MAK.

Melodious songs were sung by Suresh Salian, Kishore Kotian, Sudesh Puthran, Sachidananda Suvarna, Dinesh Suvarna and Pundarika Kanchan. As a part of entertainment programme games were conducted by Suresh Salian and Kishore Kotian to the members of MAK. Delicious food was served by Avanti Palace Restaurant. In his vote of thanks Pundarika Kanchan expressed his gratitude to each and every member who supported to make the event successful.
