Case Filed in Nashik Building Blast


Nashik, Jun 9 (PTI) A case was today registered against four persons in connection with the blast in a residential building in which three persons were killed and seven others injured near here in north Maharashtra.

The four includes businessman Manohar Gurunani, who had rented a shop in the three-storey building at Panchavati area for storing explosives. He also died in the explosion.

Gurunani, his son Anil and two others have been booked under the Explosives Act, police said.

Gurunani, who was in the business of digging wells and selling fireworks, had illegally stored the explosives, they said, adding his son has been detained for interrogation.

Police has also impounded machines used to insert powder in firecrackers, they said.

Meanwhile, an Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) team reached the spot early today and began its investigation.

Three persons were yesterday killed and seven others injured, four of them critically, in an explosion inside a three-storey building in Nashik.
