D K Shivakumar gets ED summons, daughter receives CBI notice

Shivamogga, Feb 8 (IANS): Karnataka Congress President D.K. Shivakumar said on Wednesday that he has been asked by the ED to appear before it on February 24 while his daughter, Ishwarya, has been served a notice by the Central Bureau of Investigation.

He chided that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the CBI were only meant for the opposition parties.

The CBI has issued a notice regarding disproportionate assets to Ishwarya and directed her to submit various documents. Sources said that the agencies have completed the investigation and the CBI was making preparations to file the charge sheet.

Reacting to the development, Shivakumar said to the media, "I can't do anything about it. All developments are happening in this juncture. The CBI has sent a notice to my daughter. They are asking for documents regarding matters such as college fees.

"The ED has called me for inquiry on February 24. Should I participate in Prajadhwani Yatra in Karnataka or go to ED?

"ED is existent only for us (opposition). For the ruling party there is no ED and CBI. Let it be, I will certainly know what will happen," he said.

Sources said that Shivakumar's problems may mount as the CBI is likely to file a charge sheet in the disproportionate assets case and the timing may coincide with the polls. The CBI has been conducting investigation in this regard for the past two years. Multiple raids have been conducted on residences of Shivakumar and his relatives.

ED, CBI and IT departments are now a days slaves of BJP and through their dark glasses can only see opposition politicians to harass them before elections. Major scams are done by Feku gangs but they are invisible to them.

I am not sure, if DKS Kumar is the CM face for state elections. If he is , then I have my doubts. Its tough luck with many notable parties in the fray. Projecting a tainted leader is like losing half the battle. Bommai, Kejriwal and the rest of the leaders do not fall in this bracket, where they and their children have summons for wealth related issues.

Stop blaming Center or BJP , Sir for all these summons. You were investigated , caught and arrested when Congress was ruling the State and Center. So its nothing that has just popped up yesterday , to spoil your electoral plans. We find it tough even to buy a small 1BHK flat and spend our entire life slogging to pay the EMI. And here you are as a mere 'Social worker' owning properties and business in UK, UAE US etc. Then you blame Modi who does not even have a house of his own.

DKS was always on the radar. Its obvious, the main reason for DKS projecting himself as the CM face is to be exempted from these raids when elected. Its been going on for years now. A social worker cannot have such huge properties abroad.

Nothing new, DKS had been on the radar even when Congress was ruling. The 'social worker' still has to justify the sources of his income on amassing such huge wealth.

After 2014 there are two laws for the same offence under two constitutions, one is Indian constitution and another is Nagpur constitution. DKS has appeared before CBI, ED and other caged agencies of BJP govt but every time he has been let go for lack of clinching evidence. It’s BJP who is nervous and insecure about DKS who is exposing BJP in its Prajadhwani Yatra systematically. Instead of BJP misusing its power by using third party CBI to nab DKS, BJP should arrange open press conference or JPC one-on-one straight face to face question and answer with congress, but as usual BJP always hides in rat hole and sends its caged puppets to do the job.

BJP is playing all sorts of wicked games because they are left with little confidence of winning the elections. The more they fiex the trap, worse they expose their wicked double cross approach . Such plots will not influence in public mind at all. Such low grade attitude. Winning by hook or crook should not be considered as positive spirit.
