Udupi: House gutted in massive fire, Rs 3.5 lac loss reported

Udupi, Feb 2: A house at Mattu Duggappadi under Kote gram panchayat limits got gutted on Wednesday February 1 night. The loss is estimated to be more than Rs 3.5 lac.

The house belonged to Vanaja N K. As one part of the house and cow shed caught fire, roof of the house, wooden frame work that was kept for house renovation and constructing house of Daiva, windows, hay and household electrical appliances got reduced to ashes. Nagesh Kotian, son of Vanaja Kotian conveyed the information.

Locals and district fire service squad put off the fire and prevented it from spreading to nearby houses.

Kote gram panchayat president Kishore Kumar Ambadi, PSI of Kaup Kishore Kumar Ambadi, ASI Dayanand and HC Rukmaya visited the spot and inspected the damage.
