Mangaluru, Jan 31: “If UUCMS fails to publish the results, Mangalore University will give the results within February 10 or 15,” said Prof Yadapadithaya, vice chancellor (VC) of Mangalore University.

The VC was addressing the students who had organized protest at C V Raman Circle of Mangalagangothri on Tuesday.

Prof Yadapadithaya said, “Registrar of examination will give clarification on the re-evaluation and examination fee. Regarding scholarship meeting was called with social welfare department. Decision will be taken at Syndicate meeting to prevent students from getting deprived of NSB Scholarship. Because of the mistake of UUCMS, the future of students is in jeopardy. I am also fighting along with the government.”

Registrar of examinations Prof P L Dharma said, “I have sent hundreds of mails sent by students to me to government. I have been behind this since two years. There are no permanent employees in the university. Most are guest lecturers. That is why only day before yesterday we finished evaluation of answer papers. Now this is being uploaded on UUCMS.”

Student Girish said, “We have shown the power of students. Our fight is not against the person but the system. We do not need anyone’s resignation but justice. If we do not get justice within 10 days as assured, our protest will take fierce turn.”

Konaje police beefed up security in the area. Dr Kishore Kumar K, student leaders Gautam and Prajwal were present.
