Udupi: Live endoscopy, infertility ultrasound workshop held at Kasturba Medical College & Hospital

Udupi, Jan 30: The department of Reproductive Medicine & Surgery, Kasturba Medical College (KMC) and Hospital, Manipal, a unit of Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal organised Live Endoscopy workshop on January 28 and Live Infertility Ultrasound Awareness workshop on January 29 at Dr TMA Pai Auditorium, Kasturba Medical College, Manipal. The two-day programme was inaugurated by Dr Anand Venugopal, chief operating officer, Teaching Hospitals, MAHE, Manipal. He appreciated organising live programmes.

National experts with the department faculty demonstrated various techniques of surgeries and ultrasound in infertility. All these techniques enhanced fertility. Patients with endometriosis, fibroids which are the main causes of infertility were tackled by the experts. Ultrasound which is another important techniques to diagnose problems, was shown and discussed. Finding the right day of ovulation with the new gadgets and techniques of ultrasound were shown. Dr Pratap Kumar, HOD, Manipal Assisted Reproduction Centre (MARC) & head of the department of reproductive medicine and surgery with other faculty with the guidance of Dr Padmaraj Hegde, dean, KMC Manipal and Dr Avinash Shetty, medial superintendent, Kasturba Hospital, MAHE, Manipal organized the event. More than 100 delegates participated in the awareness workshop.
