Mangaluru: Minister Sunil Kumar inaugurates comprehensive waste handling units in 99 villages

Mangaluru, Jan 28: Minister Sunil Kumar said that MRF is an effective solution to handle waste which is a huge challenge to development. In future for the Edapadavu unit to become a model in the country, the support of people of 99 villages is very vital.

Sunil Kumar spoke after inaugurating the MRF unit for processing waste at Brindel of Edapadavu gram panchayat limits on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion MP Nalin said, “The construction work of sub units of MRF is under way at Narikombu, Kedambadi and Ujire taluks. Action will be taken to extend this modern solution to make Dakshina Kannada a model district.”

S Girish, officer of MCF handed over solid waste handling vehicle worth Rs 22 lac to MRF unit of Narikombu to DK zilla panchayat CEO Dr Kumar. He also donated Rs 25 lac cheque to DC Ravikumar for centenary building fund of Redcross of the city.

Edapadavu gram panchayat president Sukumar Devadiga, MCF officer S Girish, Archana Tripati, Murthy T, contractor of the unit Dilraj Alva, chief of Mangala resources organization and unit construction contractor Anisu Rehman Kallapu were felicitated.

Dr Y Bharath Shetty, who presided over the function said that cooperation of everyone is needed for the success of the unit.
