Ajman: Gulf Medical University Hosts 'Heroes of Healthcare' Special Talk by Dr Peter Morley

Ajman, Jun 3: ‘Heroes of Healthcare’ is an international lecture series organized by the Gulf Medical University, Ajman wherein internationally renowned experts are invited to deliver talks and interact with the faculty and students at the University.

Gulf Medical University, Ajman, as part of the Heroes of Healthcare Lecture Series hosted a special talk by Dr Peter K Morley, medical director international, Bumrungrad Hospitals, Thailand. Dr Morley in his lecture on ‘Importance of Service Attitude in Healthcare’ encouraged the students to develop compassion, care and service attitude to excel in their professions. "Service attitude amongst healthcare professionals is important to be successful," Dr Peter Morley advised GMU students during the Heroes of Healthcare Lecture Series.

Dr Morley, who hails from Australia has worked as a young doctor in many refugee camps across Africa and Asia and treated thousands of people with communicable diseases as a volunteer.

The founder president of Gulf Medical University, Thumbay Moideen presented a special memento – Heroes of Healthcare Award to Dr Peter Kingsley Morley in recognition of his invaluable contributions to healthcare and medicine throughout the world. While congratulating the founder president for Gulf Medical University possessing one of the best infrastructures in the Middle East, Dr Morley said that he was highly impressed with the tremendous progress made by GMU in a short span of 13 years.  While interacting with the students he emphasized, "Care and Compassion is very important to be a successful healthcare professional."

Later Dr Morley alongwith Thumbay Moideen, Akbar Moideen had an audience with Sheikh Ammar Bin Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and other members of the Ruling family.

Dr Peter K Morley is an Australian citizen who holds a diploma in Aeronautical Engineering from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and bachelor’s degrees in Medicine and Surgery and a Master’s Degree in Public Health from Monash University, Australia. Dr Hermann Reichenspurner, MD, PhD, professor and chairman, Center for Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery, University of Hamburg, Germany will be the next international renowned expert to visit Gulf Medical University to deliver the special lecture on June 26.
