Ajman: Gulf Medical University Hosts GMU MASE 2011 Annual Exhibition

Ajman, Jun 3: Gulf Medical University (GMU), Ajman hosted the GMU MASE 2011 - 5th Annual and Medical Science Exhibition recently.

The grand and the colourful event was inaugurated by chief guest Dr Majid Bin Saeed Al Nuami in the presence of Thumbay Moideen, founder president of Gulf Medical University and other important faculty members. The chief guest visited every participating stall and wished the students the very best in the competition.

The event was attended to full capacity by more than 2,000 students from around 200 schools. Students from 15 schools from Ajman, Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah with special interest and talent in the field of medical and sciences showcased their innovative project work, posters. Apart from the handmade models/displays by the high school students, posters and audio visual presentations were conspicuously displayed.

Around 64 projects and 37 creative posters/wall charts were displayed by the participating students. In the lines of the contest, the students were given a chance to learn from the exhibits displayed by various departments from GMU such as the MBBS, Pharma D, DMD and BPT programs in the form of specimens, cadavers, life like mannequins and simulators. The grand event was sponsored by Al Mutanabbi Bookshop LLC while the co-sponsors of the event were Krispy Kreme, Almarai and Americana.

The winners of the GMU MASE 2011 were selected by a panel of judges comprising of doctors and faculty members. Professor Chandra Mouli, dean of GMU and Prof Mohd Arifulla, dean, admissions and registrar of GMU gave away the prizes to the winners/runners of the competition. Delhi Private School, Sharjah bagged the prestigious overall performance prize.
