Satara: Maha Ekikaran Samiti Holds Protests over Maha-Ktaka Border Row

Satara, Jun 2 (PTI) Activists of the Maharashtra Ekikaran Samiti today held protests in various places demanding that the disputed territories in Karnataka, claimed by the state, be brought under Centre's governance till the Supreme Court delivers its verdict on the issue.

Maharashtra Ekikaran Samiti activists, led by Satara MP Udayanraje Bhosale, held demonstrations and road blockades in Kolhapur, Satara, Sangli, Sawantwadi, and Chandgarh following which hundreds of protesters were detained.

All the Maharashtra MPs will take up the issue in the monsoon session of the Parliament, Bhosale said.

Nipani, Karwarand, Belgaum belong to Maharashtra and till the Supreme Court gives its verdict the areas should be governed by the Centre, he said.
