Batala, Jun 2 (PTI) The decision of a Dubai court to release three youths of Hoshiarpur, sentenced to death for murdering their friend Bikramjeet Singh in the UAE, has been described as a cruel joke by the shattered family.
As near and dear ones of the three released youths, who reached their hometown yesterday, rejoiced, Bikramjit Singh's father Mota Singh decried the court's verdict saying "it is a cruel joke on us".
A resident of village Dayalgarh here, he told reporters "we will soon knock the doors of the court seeking life term for all the three youths."
The distraught father said Bikramjeet, the eldest of his three children, was the sole bread winner for the family.
He had migrated to Dubai to help the family rid of its acute financial problem, Mota Singh said.
