Saudi Denies Plan to Revoke Work Permit to Foreigners

Riyadh, May 31 (PTI): Saudi Arabia today clarified that there was no blanket plan to revoke work permits for expatriates who have stayed in the kingdom for six years.

In a statement, the Labour Ministry clarified press reports that quoted Labour Minister Adel Fakieh as saying that the government would not renew work permits for foreigners who have held jobs for six years in the kingdom.

"What Labour Minister Adel Fakieh meant by his statement was that the measure would be applied on those foreigners who work for companies in the yellow category," said Hattab Al-Anazi, official spokesman of the ministry.

Companies in the yellow category that did not fulfil Saudisation conditions, should correct their status in order to get the permits of their workers renewed, he said.

Mr. Charles D'Mello, Pangla, I do not agree with your opinion. They do not have to eat 'Poiyye', but, our people who return from there will have to eat 'poiyye' under the corrupt govt. in India. Arabs are more tolerant and understaing than our own people who do not tolerate people migrating from a different state.
Mr. Edward, not all GCC citizens are longing to have democracy. In Bahrain all, I mean all Sunnis desire & support Khalifa rule. By looking at the sad state of democracy in India, one would rather opt for Monarchy than democracy.

    Mr Charles D'Mello
Arabs lived in these deserts for centuries, they survived on Dates, olives, Fish and meat, plus their caravan was travelling all over Syria, Morrocco exchanging products on barter system. Almighty God who created us also provided the food in remote deserts. Medierranean Food is much better that the junk fast food? So no panic whatsover whether we expats exist here or exit from here.

BUT ANYWAY AT PRESENT THE ENTIRE GCC BELT UNDER HOT BOILING (REVOLUTION) WATER AS THE GENERAL PEOPLE (SPECIALLY NEW GENERATION) OF ALL GCC COUNTRIES NOT INTERESTED IN MONARCY SYSTEM (KING/PRICE). THEY NEED VOTING RIGHTS IN EVERY 5-YEAR, SO THAT THEY CAN ELECT THEIR OWN POPULAR GOVT. & THUS CONTROL THEIR INDIVIDUAL COUNTRY INSTEAD OF USA-BACKED PUPPET GOVT.

M/S Irene D Souza, here is clarification about Yellow category company- Govt Saudi Arabia, Labour ministry categorized with three grades- Red-Yellow- Green. Now those company coming under Red category denied recruiting foreigners due to non compliance of Suadizaisation which Govt stipulated.Yellow category coming under little less strict that it could be asked to
expedite saudiasaization in order to get Govt support and felicities ect and Green category which means what Govt stipulated saudisaization is optimum level and Govt
encourages such companies and gives more felicities with a right to recruit cheap foreign labors.I hope
    you are convinced.

Saudi govt is feared by the revolution in saudi arabia, so they are adopting this tacticts to prevent the revolt. It is a good step done by the saudi monarchy to give jobs for the nationals.

Saudi Arabia in its efforts to bring about saudisation of jobs makes so many changes in labour rules with out making proper homework. In my earlier comment as I said, the order is likely to put on moratarium for some time and I still believe this mission is still not impossible but bit diificult.
