Mangaluru: Two persons arrested for possession, smuggling of ganja

Mangaluru Jan 8: The CCB Police have arrested two persons in connection with possession and smuggling of ganja in two separate cases.

One of the arrested has been identified as Kiran Raj Shetty (24) from Kerala. He was transporting 27.100kg ganja in his Alto car bearing registration number KL 14 W 2182 from Visakhapatnam to Mangaluru and Kerala.

Police seized the ganja, car, a mobile phone totally worth Rs 9,88,500. It is said that there are many other people involved in the ganja smuggling racket. He has several cases filed against him in Kasargod.

Another arrested accused has been identified as Neil Kishorilal Ramji Shah (35) from Bunts Hostel. He is an overseas citizen of Indian origin. He possessed ganja in his flat and was trying to sell it to locals and students.

Police seized 2 kilos of ganja worth Rs 50,000, two mobile phones, Rs 7000 cash all together worth Rs 78,000.

He purchased ganja from Visakhapatnam.
